Energy Recovery Products
Greenheck energy recovery products provide fresh
outdoor air to meet ASHRAE 62 ventilation rates, while recovering
energy from the exhaust air stream. The benefits include improved
indoor humidity levels, reduced energy costs and lower first cost
for air conditioning (due to reduction in outdoor air load).
All product designs emphasize the market needs for low maintenance
and economical first cost.
Psychometric Chart

A psychometric chart is a design tool to graph a building's HVAC thermodynamic air conditions and processes. Properties displayed on a chart include dry-bulb temperatures, wet-bulb temperatures, dew point temperatures, relative humidity, humidity ratio, specific volume, and enthalpy. A link is provided to a downloadable software program that allows the user to electronically plot conditions on a psychrometric chart. This program version permits the user to enter state points and graph the air conditioning process, while also calculating additional air properties.

Project Profiles
Richmond County Schools wanted to replace a 1920 classroom building with a new, three-story junior high in Rockingham, NC. To simplify maintenance, the school district preferred to use an HVAC system in the new building similar to current systems on campus, but wanted to avoid indoor air quality issues other new schools in the area were experiencing.

The Yuma High School is one of the oldest schools in Arizona. It's buildings have undergone multiple renovations and additions. One might not typically expect mold problems to occur in the arid Arizona climate, but Yuma experiences "monsoon season." Over years, serious mold issues developed. Greenheck's model ERV helped solve mold issues. Click here for the complete project profile.
The Alexander Elementary School in Houston, TX project include
five roof-mounted Greenheck ERVs. Four ERVs serve the classrooms
and one met the needs of the gymnasium and cafeteria. Click

DOAS & Humidity Control
The May 2008 issue of ASHRAE Journal feature an article on using dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) within the HVAC market as the primary means of moisture removal and how is has consistently gained a high market share worldwide. This is a great reference piece on DOAS & humidity control. Click here to download the complete article.
ARI Certification
To guarantee your customers are getting the performance they request,
check for ARI Certification. ARI Certified products are tested
for energy transfer effectiveness (sensible, latent, and total),
cross leakage, and pressure drop. If a manufacturer states that
their products are tested "in accordance with" ARI Standards that
DOES NOT mean they are certified. To be certified, products must
be tested by ARI and have annual check tests. Click
here for a listing of ARI Certified Energy Recovery products. Download
the Supplemental Directory.
