Classic cogged v-belts are flat belts with a corrugated driving surface, where notches run perpendicular to the length of the belt. Cogged belts are ideal for use with small diameter pulleys, where the notches allow the belt to bend and flex with ease. This allows the cogged v-belt to dissipate heat, running cooler than non-cogged belts.
